The Washington DC Chapter of GLI comprises primarily of professionals based in the Washington D.C. Metro Area (Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia) . However, participation in seminars and events usually attracts attendance from members and visitors from across the United States, and some events are available by live web broadcasts.

Our formal bimonthly meetings are held either in hotels or conference centers in the Metro DC area and are open to the public after prior registration or by special invitation by a GLI member or staff.

There are several informal events and activities planned throughout the year aimed at building our network and relationship driven culture. This chapter will partner with organizations and institutions in events or programs that have similar goals.

Leadership

Mr. Omo Igiehon, Primary Leader

Mr. Omo Igiehon is a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, GLI and a member of the Global Leadership. He currently works as an Engineering Manager in a leading development corporation in The Washington DC Area.

His responsibilities are in the area of Project Management – budget-planning, performance monitoring and evaluation, environmental oversight, and legal collaboration over large-scale projects. He has held positions in the fields of project management, land development, and engineering design for the past six (6) years. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he has been involved in student-leadership mentoring at a tertiary level for the past ten (10) years. Notably, he was the president of various university-level student groups in Nigeria, Trinidad and the United States.

Mr. Igiehon holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of the West Indies (St. Augustine, Trinidad), and a Masters degree in Environmental and Geospatial Engineering from George Washington University (Washington, U.S.A.).
